Spring has arrived in the Owlery. The violets, by tradition supposed to bloom in March,  - is doing so this year. Today I discovered 3 of them as I was in the garden repairing my dome-shaped greenhouse. It was the smell that made me notice them, they really smell deliciously.

My poor greenhouse was badly treated by the storms, but not only the storm. The tooth of time has been gnawing at the foundations and broken some of the wooden struts. It is in need of a total make over, and it will get it.

MotherOwl's bees all survived the Winter, and they seem to have found a new source of nectar.

Dagen sluttede med denne smukke sølvfarvede himmel.

The day ended with this beautiful silver sky.

  1. Uglemor,

I enjoyed your photos! So glad to see spring has arrived for you at last. We are seeing signs of autumn. The leaves are already changing colour. I will have to take some photos!

    1. I will look forward to your autumn colours. It would be strange for me to combine lenten and autumnal activities and fellings. Lent is for me a spiritual springtime.

    2. Uglemor,

Yes, I understand why you associate Lent and then Easter with spring. I was surprised (and delighted) to find this quote on other blog:

      'Lent is the autumn
      of the spiritual life,
      during which we
gather fruit to keep us going
for the rest of the year.
      Enrich yourselves
      with these treasures,
which nobody can take from you and which cannot be destroyed.
      I am accustomed to say
that we will not make Lent well unless we are determined
to make the most of it.
Let us, therefore, spend this Lent
as if it were our last,
and we will make it well.'

      St. Francis de Sales

A link between Lent and autumn!

    3. Very beautiful. What a pity that the new Danish prayerbook just has been printed. Else I would have told my husband that this prayer had to be included.
